Reviews of Budget Hotels in Krakow
As US expat living in Poland I always stay at Zaczek as it is always immaculately clean and fresh. The tram is out the front door with a stop right in front of the philharmonic and a couple of blocks from city market square. The negative reviews here are from fiction writers. Safe, secure, happy place is Zaczek so enjoyKrakow.
I have just returned from a 5 night stay at this ‘resort’, when my taxi driver dropped me there on Monday, he quietly laughed, out his head in his hands before looking at me and saying ‘this place is so bad the rats ran away’. He wasn’t wrong.
I caught 4 infections staying at this accommodation.
Super cheap and best location!
the best value for money spent - close to every amenity, definetly a good choice if you don't want any frills

we stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and 6 days on a school trip. The staff were very friendly. Out of the 5 nights I personally got 1 night quiet sleep because we were based at the front of the hotel were a main busy road was, in the rooms the beds had old sheets that had a hospital name on that had pubic hairs on it was a disgrace and the hotel didnt do nothing about this when we complained. But hey what do you expect from a 1 star hotel in poland?
I stayed in the hotel with 20 students of mine in March and we liked it. It was nearly empty, we had enough breakfast and it was silent. For this price, fair enough. This summer, I'm gonna stay there again.
I've been there in 2007. It was clean and comfortable, cheap and safe. My main review: I'll be back this summer. :)
great choice for young people, nice rooms and very close to the center :)
will never recommend this hotel. I hated breakfast. 10 sausages for 100 people. crowded room and no place to sit. I had to wait for 20 minutes to be able to eat. Never ever stay there if you respect yourself!!! my rate is not OK (3/5)!!!!!!!!!!! it is 0.
Fikk mitt første ligg der, mhmmmm englishmen.
ewa het was kaulo vet daaar hahhaha :P xx :$
Dorm Studenski Piast! One of the first things I learned to say during my visit to Krakow when my polish speaking boyfriend and I were flying stand by and there was a chance I'd get there before him. lol We do a lot of traveling but I have to say Krakow is my all time favorite and staying at the piast was perfect. The tram was just a few block away, you could buy the tickets for the tram downstairs and a few moments later you're in the center of the city. you want to do some more drinking but dont want to worry about gettting back to the correct hotel? Not a problem ... there's a bar at the very bottom level .. then you can just stumble to the elevator (lift) and go right to your room. Ladies be careful in some restrooms if you walk to far in you might find a guy at a urinal ...not something I was used to being from the States... but was quick to learn. Dorm Studentski Piast! Is the best place for super comfort, super cheap and best location!
hoi
I was able to stay at hotel piast for 3 weeks. staff was exceptional!! very helpful, friendly atmosphere. Will stay there again on next visit.
I forgot to add. Important thing for no-smokers. Students are used to smoke on the corridors. Through those doors the smoke easily goes inside the room!
I stayed there for three nights. Single room with bathroom. Through old doors each sound from the corridor was going inside the room. One night I couldnt sleep coz the doors to the bathroom placed on the corridor were creak so loud. There was no small closet to put things on. Just one small table. No hooks at all. I was hanging the towel on some water pipe salient from the wall. So dirty carpet I haven't sen so far. Nothing like on the pictures I found in the network. I am very dissapointed with this place. Much better are Nawojka and Piast.
I am Polish citizen, but I live in Brazil. Can I to stay two nights at this hotel? For two person (me and my wife). Date: From October, 1 of 2008 to October, 3 of 2008. If I cannot, please could you tell another hotel with low price?
I realy like the style. It was simple but still good. The food was good (especially the pizza from the pub just around the corner ;) . It was even some drunk englishmens there.. And they wanted to &/&%# with the girls in my class :P Burn Brun Burn in the ring of fire
We stayed at the Hotel Start for three nights during early March 2008. I have always had an 'eye for a bargain' and this hotel was very low priced. However, whereas on previous trips low prices have usually resulted in good quality accommodation, I'm afraid the Hotel Start does not fall into this category. On this occasion, we got what we paid for. The Positives: 1. Staff are very helpful and speak good English. 2. There is a Tesco supermarket next door. This proved invaluable when withdrawing cash! 3. The staff will always call for a taxi for you and organise any trips. The Negatives: 1. The hotel at night is VERY noisy. Guests did not have consideration for others at 2.30am in the morning. It just wasn't one party of people, it was several! 2. The corridors and our room smelled of cigarette smoke. Remember - you are allowed to smoke in Poland. 3. The website claims the hotel is 1km away from the centre of Krakow. It is not, it is about 3 miles (what's that? 5km?). We are both walkers so this wouldn't usually bother us, but the route is not straight-forward and you would have to walk through some gloomy looking estates. 4. There is nowhere local to exchange your travellers cheques! You can only withdraw from cash machines or a cash only exchange place in Tesco. 5. The bar and restuarant had the charisma of a stale pastry! We poked our heads around the corner and that was enough! 6. We had camp beds, not beds... To summarise, if you are part of a hen or stag party, or any other group looking for cheap accommodation and will more than likely be coming in the early hours, this is probably the place for you. However, if you are single or travelling as a couple, my advice is to pay a little more and stay somewhere else. You have been advised!
ouai ça va, on est bien traité, et les chambres sont conviviales
3of as like to stay one week in one room. Date from the 28jan to 4feb. can you tell us the prize and how to book pls.
I've been there with my tutorgroup during the FIFA worldcup and it was really good. We've met lots of other fans and were able to watch the games in the tv room... :)
The hotel was kinda okay, but nothing more. The rooms were fine, but the sheets were to small for the bed. I thought the breakfast also was fine, but do not try the coffee.
Gdy zobaczy³em fasadê budynku w którym mia³em przenocowaæ, nie by³em zachwycony. W dodatku nie mog³em siê dogadaæ po Polsku z recepcj¹ co do faktury. Jedhnak mimo wszystko za niewygórowan¹ cene dosta³em w sam raz. Hotel start to dobre miejsce gdy podró¿uje siê w interesach
this youth hotel was quite good. I was there for 2 nights and i had a room on fourth floor. Yes there was a clen rooms, but I was excited when I saw, that Two rooms (2+4)+(2+4) were connected with bathroom. There was only one toilet and shower for twelve people. I was reallly scared when I saw it. But except of that it was fine. Meals were good and tasty. So if you want sgo there and have a lot of fun..
Nice, clean place - great value for money. Lots of School groups, particularly Germans when i went. The staff are friendly and will order you a taxi when you want to get to the town centre.
