African atheltes dominated at the eleventh Cracovia Marathon this weekend, taking all three spots on the podium in the men's event. Peter Kariuki Wanjira, of Kenya, took the gold medal with a time of 2 hours, 12 min, 11 seconds. He crossed the line 23 seconds ahead of his fellow countryman Edwin Kirui. Third place fell tok Faustin Mussa Starehe, of Tanzania, who finished 47 seconds behind Wanjira. Among the women, a Polish athlete made it onto the podium. Agnieszka Ciolek's time was 2 hours, 41 min, 31 seconds. Bosnia and Herzegovina's Lucia Kimani was the winner of the women's section, with a time of 2:36:50. Russian Anastasia Zuev took the silver medal. However, Ciołek looked as though she would be the winner, all the way to the 28 kilometre mark. At that point she fell back a little, and shortly after crossing the finish line she collapsed. The runner received medical attention at the scene, but her condition was not said to be serious.
