The themed cafe-restaurant taken to new heights in this splendid new addition to the Kazimierz scene. The interior contains a huge assortment of turn-of-the century knick-knacks and furniture with a humorous but poignant twist, and there's wonderful Jewish music to round it all off. Friendly service, delicious hot coffee and cakes, and more substantial meals as well, make this a place sure to be a big hit. If you can't make it to the nearby Museum of Jewish Culture, at least you'll get a taste of the culture of yesteryear in this outstanding cafe.

Absolutely charming & beautifully crafted. The menu is exquisite & delicious offering some fabulous Jewish dishes. We heard live music which added to the atmosphere. Loved, loved, loved!
March 2009.
We only noticed this by chance when we went to read a notice on the wall.
Not overtly a bar/restaurant.
Publicity could be better.
We only had a beer at lunchtime but it is WELL WORTH a look.
A one off in anyones book.

Visited this superb little restaurant on 28th February 2008 with two friends. The decor and ambience were everything we expected - quite superb. The service and food were excellent and the saxophonist later on added a very nice touch. We ate well and drank well, finishing with a few Polish vodkas. Total price for the 3 of us at the end of a long evening came to about £35 ! Highly recommended to anyone wanting something different, with cosy atmosphere and very reasonable prices.
we were in "once upon a time in..." only last night. We went in without a booking and were offered a "small table". Ok that will do and it turned out to be a sewing machine.. the old fashioned tredle-type. Luckily ther was a eautiful dressing table at the side of it, so we put drinks etc on the dressing table and managed to squeeze the plates on the corner. The food was good although only lukewarm. The service was not good although very friendly and polite. We waited a long time for menus, then drinks, then the bill at the end. However you still must go there as it is such a unique fabulous place. Perhaps it might be advisable to book a decent sized table
We are just back from Krakow and on our last night went to Once Upon a Time. It was most certainly a most worthwhile visit, the service was impeccable, the young lady who served us was most gracious, welcoming and spoke impeccable english which was a great help to us. The food was simply delicious and the portions more than ample, so much so that we could not even try the cheesecake which I am sure would have been delicious. 20 out of 10 for the food, the service, the ambiance and a special thanks to the young waitress who made our evening very special indeed and sorry for being the last customers to leave!!
This place is ace! It's got atmosphere and the food is great. The dumplings are delicious, the soup stupendous and the 'Three bean' fantastic. You really have got to try this place out for yourself.
