Pod Jaszczurami 'Under the Lizards' is one of the oldest and most famous student clubs in Krakow. It was opened in 1969, but the magnificent vaulted ceiling transports you back to the days when a certain Nicholas Copernicus was a student in the city. The club has plenty of bright stars in its firmament, with big names in Polish music (anything from hip hop to jazz) performing regularly, whilst the link with Polityka magazine brings political big-wigs (including the President) to discussions here. This is a friendly place to drop by for a beer or a snack (non-students are welcome), and prices are equally convivial. A venerable 1950's projector shows films by directors such as Lynch and Almodovar and there are also regular art exhibitions. Something of a Cracovian institution.

I was there with my two friends yesterday, 5/6th December 2015. We enjoyed the music and lovely atmosphere until we left 3ish AM. There was a very nice Englishman wearing red white and blue checked shirt sitting beside a pillar and smiling beautifully. Does anyone know him?
I was there yesterday and it was awful. I grow up in Krakow and never cross that kind of service in all my life. I was in Klub Pod Jaszczurami before in September of this year and I was politely told to order the drinks at the bar and not from the waitress which was grand. Yesterday, i was in and i asked a waitress if that was the same case and with an almost patronizing look and an attitude she said " Well!!!, it's your choice... if you want to order at the bar" and turned to walk away but the she changed her mind after a few seconds and turned back around to us and with an even worse attitude and said " Well if you going to order at the bar, give me back my menus". Shocked, as we were, as we had only sat down and received the menu's and I asked her " Where was all the attitude from" and she didn't reply, she just turned her back and walked away. With that we gathered our belongings and proceeded to leave your establishment and in doing so approached the bar to question the bar tender about the waitress and her attitude and was shown no remorse as they joked behind the bar. As we walked to the door the waitress in question, gave us a horrible look with a grin as we walked out the door.
Great place to spend the night! Good drinks, karaoke for everyone (good or not doesnt matter).
Saturday 23rd August 2014. I enjoyed the cheesy music, drink and some great companions. Ania please get in touch.
17th September 2008 @ Pod Jaszczurami - an evening of instrumental post-rock with New Century Classics. Free entrance!
We had a fun night here, listening to the DJ play everything from Madonna to House Music to Michael Jackson, a great mix of music and great atmosphere.
Great place. I went there on my third night in Krakow and liked it very much. Music is nice and it will make you jumping all the night. And of course a very special place for me cos i met there with a great someone.
I was there in the fall with Salsabor and am looking forward to playing with PyLQS on april 18th. We had the dance floor full. A really relaxed club.
Absolutely fantastic to meet people and chat...but crazy Saturday and Sunday. Go there for a good time and old school AMrican oldies.
Nice, in a smoking jacket laid back jazz vibe. Cool place with seems very popular with the young hip and trendy Karkow crowd.
This was our first experience of the Krakow nightlife on a freezing Thursday evening. It also happened to be Karaoke night there! Lots of different languages being spoken, but everyone having a good time.
V. nice. I had a very good time there, greetings (and thanks for showing me the place) to Simone.
