On Dec 2, with Drag Queens' London and Castadiva shows, the newly reopened Kitsch kicked the door open to Krakow nightlife scene. Also, on the first night all guests could receive a piece of collapsed staircase from the previous location at Wielopole St.
From now on, everyday regular party KITSCH LAST MINUTE-DISCO, with super hits, from 1960's to the latest, will now be held in avant guarde Kazimierz district, from 9 pm to 7 am.

Has changed place and name so many times, I'm completely lost. The original place was brilliant until it fell down (literally).
You'd be forgiven for thinking that finding a gay club in conservative Krakow might prove as tricky as finding an unopened tinny at an Alcoholics Anonymous Christmas bash. You'd be pleasantly surprised then to find this stalwart player on Krakow's party scene boldly operating in the middle of two or three other nocturnal hotspots, including the incomparable Caryca. You'd be even more pleasantly surprised if there were any trace of Kitsch being a gay bar left over from when it first opened. These days Kitsch looks as much like a hetero pick up joint as a homo hangout... Still, thanks to the rather sinful atmosphere, there's plenty of fun to be had by all-comers and Kitsch keeps going long after other parties have run out of spunk.
this must be the best club in Europe ! every time in Krakow il hanging out there, great crowd of colorfull people, cool music etc etc ! GO TO KITSCH, u wil never regret : )
One of the best clubs in Cracow. Opens at 1.00 p.m. and goes on till the last customer. Two bars, big dance floor, lots of young people having fun, and location – 10 minutes walk from the Main Market Square, on the way to another party hub – Kazimierz.

need to give us your name),on the day of the party the door selection will
check you with identity card.

The main stairs collapsed in the early hours of this morning. This club and the other 4 that shared the same building (Caryca, Lubu-Dubu etc) are closed whilst an investigation takes place. 11 injured, 2000 evacuated. Thank God no casualties.
You having a good night is totally dependent on the animals on the door not being in the middle of a steroid cycle.
Bouncers are pretty much as described below which replects the fact that the doorstaff run this place, not the management.
STAY AWAY unless you are a fan of racial abuse. The bouncers here are nothing like I've ever seen. Brutal, animalistic, thick-headed, racist, moronic jabbas who refused to let us in purely on the ground that we're English. These criminals should be put away. I've never gone this far out of my way to write a review before but this shocking experience left me compelled to warn others to stay away.
Incredible. There was an opening party for a new part of the club last weekend and it was just heaving - awesome!
Continued- we went back in in groups of three's with no probs! Best nite of the weekend! Had no idea it was gay/ friendly, didn't matter in the slightest met and news'd to a bunch of different people. Cheap drink great atmosphere, no trouble if you don't look for it. As for toilets, if you've ever been to a barndance it's no big deal. Only place we found open till breakfast! Good memories!
Crikey! Was in this club twice last weekend, Thursday and Saturday night till about 6.00 am. We were on a stagger from Scotland and and it was pretty close to where we were staying. The first time we tried to get in the bouncers said we were too drunk because there was 12 of us but we all managed to get in later by
Nice club, good prices. I only meet friendly people from poland, turkey and spain no probs with anybody. The music is getting used to, many polish hits.
Still one of the best nights out in Krakow.Seems to attract a friendly crowd - I have never seen any problems here whenever I have visited. People here know how to party!

This place is terrible, nasty, unfriendly gorrilla type bouncers. Dont waste your time people! Go somewhere else.
Was here last weekend, I ended up going with three random polish guys who were extremely friendly. The club was very busy and I didn't have any trouble. I talked with people from all over. America, France, Spain and more. Fantastic night and best night in Krakov.
Well, i wanted to go to this nightclub, but now with all the reviews, seems like it's a dangerous place. It's very annoying to know that the bouncers are behaving like this, because if they have money and that job it's because of the tourists and people that they are treating so bad, they should be ashamed and in jail, i feel sorry for them, that's a lack of education, very unproper and unpolite. if this is true, then police should close this place. It's embarrasing and how the owners allow them to do that. i think it's horrible

Bandy, what are you on? If it was so bad, how come it is so popular? Sounds like you are just some loser bar-owner with no customers and a grudge. Kitsch is one of the best clubs in Krakow, and the crowds prove it!
All the positive reviews here are written by Kitsch staff, the place is a hell hole. Dangerous volatile bouncers. With a history of unprovoked attacks. Please please go somewhere else, dont risk this place.
Ask yourself why so many people are going out of their way to warn you about this place? there is nothing in it for me, I am not spiteful and want to see people make an honest living - but this place deserves no business until their bouncers are brought in front of a criminal court.

was also at the club on the night when the bouncers attacked people at that bar. it's terrible for your country that these incidents happen and gives not only the city of Krakow but all of Poland a bad reputation with tourists that bring a lot of money into your country.
i don't think monitoring the situation is going to please the innocent victims of the attacks. i'd love to hear from the owners and the security company what kind of action is actually going to be taken and how the victims of these crimes would be compensated?

DO NOT GO HERE. I was at this club recently. When a drunken polish man tried to take my friends jacket and knocked over his drink the security stepped in. They got a few of us in a choke holds, sprayed us with pepper spray, and dragged us out. While i was in this choke hold, and could not breathe for over a minute I was punched and kicked repeatedly by others, sprayed with pepper spray twice, and somebody gouged my eye with two fingers, in a genuine attempt to blind me. The security also had a stun gun which they attempted to use on us but were unsuccessful. My friend was on the ground with his face in his hands after being sprayed with pepper spray, when they pulled his hands away and sprayed him again. Another friend was kicked down the stairs. At no point did any of us put up any resistance. We were simply trying to stop somebody taking a jacket. The security are absolute cavemen who enjoy beating people like this. I dont understand why the police turn such a blind on this kind of behaviour as it seems to be a regular occurrence.
This is some facts from what I saw last Sat. Two guys were pushing each other for a few seconds then it stopped. I was standing directly beside them so I know it was not serious.
Bouncers come and very violently remove the people + some friends using pepper spray, gouging eyes to rub the spray in and took them down the street where they continued to strangle and beat them. Ambulance had to be called, it was quite shocking and I did not see the victims acting violently at anytime.
I said it to a local the following day and he was not surprised because the Bouncers have a big reputation he said it only really happens to foreigners.
Why take the chance, there are lots of great bars in Krakow - go somewhere else
Youre monitoring your security? Really? They dont need monitoring, they need firing. I'll be doing my utmost to ensure you get as little business from tourists as possible.

the bouncers in this club are ANIMALS...i saw them being very violent, using pepper spray on people who aren't even being aggressive. kicking people while they're on the ground. choking people. they should be arrested. i don't know why the police haven't shut the place down as it seems to be something that happens regularly here. it would make me ashamed to be polish that people can behave like this with no comeback.
It's not really a gay bar - just a great Krakow classic that welcomes all sorts. Probably one of the top 3 clubs in the city - and I'm not exaggerating. Go Kitsch!

I was at this fantastic place all alone, but not for long. Two very friendly men came to my table and we had a long and good chat. What I love about Kitsch is the gay-friendly atmosphere that made me totally relax and enjoy my best night in Krakow ever ;-) After Kitsch my new friends invited me to their place and we had a wonderful time I will never forget!
I visited the club for the third year in a row, and everytime it's lots of fun. The music could be better, but there's a very good atmosphere. The previous reviews describe that place pretty good! You get to meet a lot of nice polish people having a good time, drinks and music are totally exceptable. But damn, keep an eye on those gorilla style bouncers! They toke a serious hold of me, for none whatsoever reason. I had a hard time getting out of there whith good luck that I was almost unhurt.

Kitsch has the 2 sides that were talked about here, the grungness of the door man, and possibily some times u'll have to run away from them, loool, but the party there just rocks everything!!!!

I've been to Kitsch many times and it's always been good fun. Sure the bouncers are a bit strict, but then they leave you alone if you listen. Never had problem inside. Always good tunes ... sure it's a bit run down, but there's some charm to it. Bartenders are speedy and drinks stiff if you tip. It's a Krakow institution!
Everybody should avoid this place at least for respect of the several people who have been physically abused, inside the place or at the entrance by those security guards.
I wasnt aware of that went I visited it last night. As I was leaving this guard decides to beat me out of the blue. He kicked my back forcing me to roll down the stairs, I repeat ABSOLUTELY FOR NO REASON. I spent the whole day trying to call local police as well as my embassy. I could have been seriously hurt.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!! this place is a dump. It has 2 gorilla's on the door who randomly choose to let u in or not and if the choose not to let u in, they push u in the chest, hardly a great idea when the door is right at the top of a flyte of stairs. The toilets are also interesting - there are no urinals so guys have to piss in sinks. This place is seriously bad, no hot girls and the place is full of intimidating people. Club Cien is much better

(I became suspicious when I read about the friendly bouncers). Kitsch is place you end when everything closes, the bouncers are extremely aggresive in their way of handling problems (they only use force/never talking) and often the place is "full/closed" unless you pay a 10-20z³ entrance fee. All in all it could be a good place without the gorillas standing at the door

if music were played off an ipod playlist, it would sound better.
the songs played clash with one another, so there is that "awkard pause" in between songs where people stop dancing.
if your looking for a after party its not a bad place if your drunk enough not to care about the music.
but either way its where everyone ends up.
but the fact that there is no dj really bothers me, and makes me rethink about the definition of a "club"

I'm going to krakow this august nad after reading these reviews I won't be going to kitch. It's shocking that guy cannot kiss a guy in a GAY CLUB!!! what about a girl and a boy, I'm sure they can. ridiculous!!!
Kitsch is a great place to end your night.... Hit up the bars in Krakow then around 3am head to Kitsch... At the weekend it's open until 7-8am. Atmosphere is always welcoming, it's free entrance, but the toilets aint great - so take some tissues. I've been here for 5 months now and rarely go a weekend without ending up in the Kitsch!!!
I went with my buds to celebrate his 23 b-day. Quite disturbing that I saw gay people french kiss each other. (only if i knew this is a gay friendly place) anyway, I ended hooked up with 2 hot polish chics without even paying to get drinks for them. made all those guys mad as they bought rounds of drinks for them.
We were there to check out the whole house on wielopole, and stayed for a couple of drinks. The reason? Strongbow draft, and good music! Good place to party whether you are straight or gay. As a married straight couple, we didn't feel unwelcome at all, as you may in some other gay bars. The toilets are generally bad in Poland (as a little remark to an earlier review), just bring your own tissues, and you'll be OK!
Strange little place. Really really really really really really R-E-A-L-L-Y disgusting toilets. I mean really bad. Apart from that it's really good, well worth a look. We had a great night besides having to use the toilets a bit.

This bar was perfect for my fishy pallet! Although the dancers didn't carry out my request to dance like a fish! The drinks were great i even got a bit of cod liver oil! The was a small pond out back to me moist! I drinks really opened up my gills. My boyfriend Limpet got slapped because he kept trying to touch the barman, and apparently his hotpants were too tight and short! After a while a got chucked out for making inapproriate sexual gestures! It was still good while it lasted! The fish will return with his hot pants!
Yeh, i really felt that i could let myself go here and i didn't have to pretend to anyone. I've been quite confused recently about my sexuality and coming here really proved to me that i am gay. BTW, i met a really hot polish guy, i don't really remember your face but i remember lots of other things about you. I was wearing a pink T-shirt and some white skinny jeans. You know who you are! This bar was just perfect for a big raving lesbian like me! I was able to express all my feelings towards my fellow lesbian commrades! The polish women were so forward and friendly! Even though some were very similar to gorillas! I would love to come here again and this time i would prepare myself for some more lesbian fun!

Ketch is a great bar, big also with some great dancing and real tallent. Shame dough the bouncer asked my Bf and i so stop hugging and kissing as we were leaving, and we were not OTT by anyway. So shame on that, just remember LADS YOUR NOT ALLOWED TO KISS OTHER GUYS IN THERE!!!!!
