For those walking along the river to Galeria Kazimierz, there's now a gastronomic experience waiting at the other end, and one that's not part of a faceless chain. Toskania (Tuscany) serves up all the treats you'd expect from the land of the Medici, including a mouthwatering array of pastas and pizzas. For main courses, the chef rustles up such continental classics as grilled entrecote with fresh herbs, chicken fillet with mascarpone and dijon sauce, as well as veal chops with sage and Tuscan ham. The elegant but informal decor makes for a pleasant place to while away the time, and amiable host Grzegorz Cieplinski is sure to make you feel at home. A decent wine list is also on hand.
