The industrial, modern interior of Alchemia od Kuchni (Alchemia from the Inside, lit. from the Kitchen) is back-to-back with one of Krakow's nightlife institutions, Alchemia pub. What lands on your plate is... but wait! In fact, there are no plates in Alchemia od Kuchni, and the wide selection of street food from all corners of the world is served on manila-covered wooden trenchers. The place has been nominated to Ale Lokale 2012 award for the best design in cafes, bars and restaurants, and their chef, Marcin Chmiel (with his signature dish is marinated breast of quail) is among top six Polish chefs up for the Discovery of the Year Chef prize. The service is swift, and the prices are reasonable, which is probably why the place has earn some credit among born and raised Krakowians. All in all, a good place to drop by, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner-time.

Very poor. I had the goulash yesterday and it was made with low quality meat. The knedle was hard and not tasty at all. Very disappointed as I have eaten here several times before and been very happy. I saw a lot of unfinished meals around me. Time for a new cook, I think....
