Though ins and outs of the Kazimierz side of Wisla banks have been known to Krakowians for many years now, the Podgorze side is somewhat terra incognita, where only the baldest restaurant owners venture, followed by the most persistent taste gamblers. Nevertheless, new eateries spring up in Podgorze every so often, adding a breath of laid - back air to the district, or at least the hippie part of it, adjacent to the river. ZaKladka is the pet project of one of the best chefs in Poland, Rafał Targosz, and believe me, he knows what's cookin', especially in terms of French-inspired bistro and brasserie delicacies. The interior is simple, bright, with dark accents of furniture, as not to eclipse the contents of one's plate. ZaKladka is all about simple cooking and the joy of life, hence original, fresh ingredients, reasonably priced wines, and bread-stuff made on the spot. Worth the while!
