Lip-smacking, home-made Polish cooking served in a somewhat shabby interior of a traditional milk bar. It seems that at "U Stasi" time has stopped some time around 1970's, both service- and price-wise. One interesting feature, for example, is the ordering mode. First you order at the counter (Polish only, and not a literary variety, mind you, but fortunately menus come in several languages), and after you've eaten, you pay a man who is sitting at the exit. Nevertheless, the taste and the price of the meals combined can overcome all inhibitions. If you're into pierogi, cutlets, borscht or chicken soup with a university professor on your left side, and a bum on your right, go ahead and venture to "U Stasi". Make sure you go early though, the place serves till it's out.

Well, the food really is pretty good. In our case though, we just sat down and ordered from the table. Food came quickly, and, like you said, we paid on the way out. The guy at the till just asked us what we had and totted it all up. A place for locals, clearly....
