Cracovians love Zakopane, the ski resort in the Tatra mountains, but if they can't make it there for the weekend, can often be found in this restaurant, tucking into healthy proportions of Polish fare, and listening to live "mountain folk" music, an invigorating mixture that will put you in truly thigh-slapping "Sound of Music" mode. Don't be put off by the small-looking entrance - downstairs is a cavernous cellar fitted out with rustic wooden tables and a miniature waterfall that will keep the children amused for minutes. A goodie.

Haben das Restaurant auf Empfehlung besucht und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Köstliches Essen und freundliche Bedienung
We visited Krakow 2 years ago. Tried Polish food here for the first time on our first night and came back every night after until we left.
We will be visiting again in the Summer and we hope to return to this restaurant. We are verry happy to find that it remains open as our memories of the food are very very special
Jedyna taka góralska restauracja pod Wawelem, z dobrą kuchnią regionalną i wyjątkową atmosferą.
Dined at the restaurant on 10th May to celebrate our friends birthday . Food, service and drinks were excellent, staff went out of their way to make it a memorable occasion, the folk group sand sto lat and the chilled lemon vodka was delicious!!!
I've been there 4 or 5 times now and it doesn't disappoint. Plenty of atmosphere and some really nice food. Staff are well togged up in Polish costume to add to the ambience.
Cannot sum up how great this place is. The atmosphere, the food, the portion size and the price all spot on! Will be back soon!
been there twice fantastic going to krakow in febuary my first night will be in there great food great atmosphere cant wait this is real polish
Delicious and plenty of food per portion. Taste of food harmonizes with Central European tastes, can't be disappointed if you come from this region. Polite and quick service for reasonable price. The only critic is that additional order was missed.
Can be hard to find. It's on the square on Plac Szczepanski (not the Polish restaurant next to Scandale Royal), small fronted with some tables outside but ask to be seated downstairs for a traditional Polish feel. All food excellent, we had soup and stew for starters with a platter of mixed meats for 2 excellent value at 56 zloty. Total of just over 400 zloty for 4 but half of that was for 4 bottles of very good Georgian (Tiblisi Red) wine. Would visit again and recommend to anyone
Tasty food to reasonable prices, professional staff and "mountain atmosphere" with live music are the reasons why i return with travel groups to Morskie Oko again and again. and
Brought my teenagers here to give them a 'taste' of Poland. Dancing was cancelled due to death of Polish president but the atmosphere was still great. Polish businessmen playing a board game on next table! Polish fare was good, staff very helpful, but meat disappointing - still, the quality of the food was not the reason I chose this restaurant so for general atmosphere and fun, this is great!
Superb all round. Authentic, attentive and very reasonably priced. defo on the list to visit next time
Nice place to eat and live Polish folk music to entertain. So what if the service is a bit slow with the food, the drinks were served quickly and who's in a rush?
What a find! Such a sweet place. Traditional dancing on Mondays and Sundays, wooden floor, walls and tables, waterfall and great service. Wine is really good here and reasonable. Sauces a bit lame, but the steak was great. Recommended as a great early evening place to eat or drink
My only complaint about this place seems to resonate with the reviews below - really slow service. We ordered our food and it was a good half hour before it came - even the beer took like 10 minutes - and the place was not that full. Otherwise, the food is quite good and the prices are very reasonable, just a little more than milk bar prices. If come here, order a starter, since you'll be waiting for your main anyway!
these reviews are old - i go here at least 1x week and like it. only once was my food so-so, partly bc i had to wait for it for over 1 hr and the local was'nt busy. i meet my friend here for coffee its pleasant sweet kiss bby!
This was the first Restaurant we visited in Krakow and we found it fairly disappointing. Service was slow hit & miss; my bigos, a Polish staple, was watery & tasteless, but Lynne's Placki was good. We found the restaurant lacking in atmosphere but it was very quiet when we visited (well apart from the loud Americans on the next table.....)
Very reasonably priced, though, about £18.00 for three.
Nice place and good quality food...really cheap too! A nice ambient where spend a dinner in a caracteristic polish atmosphere.Service should speak english more...with tourists i mean :)
