If you are looking for a smart but friendly restaurant either for a quick lunch or a longer evening meal, Magnes (magnet) might just fit the bill. This new addition to the restaurant scene in Krakow has got off to a great start by providing both hearty portions of what you might call 'modern' cooking. Expect to find fresh soups such as pumpkin (large enough to satisfy even the most hungry), smoked trout salads or exquisite, simple, top-drawer, pasta dishes such as carbonara. Service is discreet but quick, and the bistro has the added advantage of outdoor seating on the pavement for those seeking the full continental experience, without the crowds just further down the road. Give it a go!

Superb food and service, visited for lunch, returned next day. Apple pie definitely worth the wait (cooked to order).
Has moved from the old address to Tomasza (where Cherubino used to be). Food is excellent as always !
The best place we found for a light lunch during our recent trip to Krakow. Excellent food and service. Thank you!
The service was friendly, efficient and attentive. It is right in the centre of town by the main church on the square but not a tourist trap - the meal was high quality, prepared with top class ingredients and evident care, and it was also reasonably priced. I will be recommending Magnes to friends who will be visiting in October. Andy
i saw the reviews on this website and went there.........absoulutely fantastic food ! great surprise on the midlle touristy area, u must go over there !
Nothing fancy but the food is suprisingly tasty, something that you dont see too often in Krakow. Keep up the good work!!
Always had very good service here - and excellent meals. The staff are happy to recommend dishes, and generally are cheerful and helpful. The food is excellent, the pierogi especially good.
Super lunch! The lasagne was a very healthy portion, freshly made. Very good value and attentive staff. The hot bread in the paper bag at the beginning of the meal was a nice touch.
What a fantastic meal we have just had. We started with the barszcz (beetroot soup) which was perfect, with homemade dumplings. Then for mains, roastbeef with mustard (myself), and pierogi and a flan for the rest of my family. Pudding was a chocolate 'thing' and creme brulee with perfect coffee. The whole meal was 5 star, and the price was incredibly reasonable (about 20 pounds for 3 people with all these courses and a couple of soft drinks). I have had their great pumpkin soup some time ago, but when I went back today I must say the whole quality and service has gone up another level entirely. I will definitely be back, and I happily suggest to everyone that you try it out yourselves soon. Mark
What a cool place! All in white, greys and black, full of light, discrete however... Understandable short but diverse menu written on panes in Polish and English. Friday nigt decided with friends to see in and dont regret. Pumkin soup sound so strange I ordered. Marvelous! And a sandwich in restaurant? I got it served on a dish, warm, fresh, with vegetables and beef. Cool idea must say. And really tasty. Left full after that. Thats what they call bistro. Must recommend. And so do my friends.
A promising start for this rather snappy little restaurant. My meal was delicious, nicely served and filling. Will definitely eat here again.
