Editor's review
This stylish new restaurant takes its name from an old Polish expression: "The Pole and the Magyar like brothers stand, Whether with sword or with tankard in hand." The restaurant was inspired by the owner's travels abroad, so it looks like there's still some truth in the old expression. However, the place is a refreshingly modern take on Hungarian style, fusing quirky pictures with a light, contemporary decor. And its not just goulash on the menu too. The chef has rooted out some interesting dishes such as goose liver fried in pears soaked with Tokaj wine, and an excellent Hungarian carp soup. Charming location on a cosy street - two hundred years ago there was a popular inn on the same spot.

FOOD NOT BAD IN GENERAL, BUT DO NOT ORDER LAMB DISH WITH DUMPLINGS,MY BOYFRIEND MADE THAT MISTAKE AND WENT HOME HUNGRY LOL, 4 LITTLE PIECES OF LAMB WITH A BIT OF SAUCE AND 3 DUMPLINGS IS TO SMALL PORTION FOR WHAT THEY CHARGE FOR IT I AM AFFRAID
Great place - off main Square, intimate atmosphere and great service.
We had crawfish & chicken salad - huge portion (easily split between two!). Chicken soup was tasty, arriving in an unusual hanging bowl, heated by candle! Main course of goose fillet was to die for! However, Lamb Goulash with potatoe pancakes, whilst tasty, was sadly lacking in any quantity of meat. Definately NOT for the meat lovers amongst you!
Would definately recommend this delightful restaurant, but choose wisely!
The decor and atmosphere lends itself to a really relaxing night out. The food on both occasions I ate here was excellent and the service was very pleasant. The starter was huge (plus the complimentary bread and sauces) but was still able for the delicious goulash! Would also recommend the soup in bread bowl - would return for that alone! Good honest food at a great price
If your on your first trip to krakow and dont want to head too far from the centre this place is a must. Fantastic honest food in a fab setting. Service was also great on the night we visited. In a nutshell - great food, service and prices. We'll be back!
Excellent food, even better service, lovely court yard at the back, very reasonable prices. We had a lovely evening there and thoughly recommend the place.
Points for presentation, and the food was good to boot. The potato pancakes with 'goulash', the goulash came in a separate hanging pot that was warmed with a candle. It was tasty. I have a great duck breast with buckwheat. Looks like a new or newly renovated place.
I picked 4/5 because the 3/5 is listed as ok. I would give this place a "good" and maybe not really good (food is great service a tad slow and not exactly attentive)
I really liked the decor of the restaurant however the tables are too small to hold the huge plates, breadbasket etc. Quanity of food was huge I was stuffed after my appetizer. My first course was the smoked salmon with the pancakes and it was absolutely delicious. My main course was dumplings with a goulash. It was also tasty just could have used a bit more salt.
I would eat here again.
Never write reviews for things, but I want to for this place. Yesterday, we had the most amazing lunch here - you must try the soup served in a roll (although the borsch was apparently fantastic too). Goulash was fab. Great service and decor - I want the pictures!
Food here was lovely. The goulash was the best I've ever tasted and the dessert somolos were to die for! Definitely worth a visit when in Kracow again.
The best place we had a meal in Krakow during our weekend stay. It was very relaxing to drink some Tokaji wine there after a day of exhausting walking. The surroundings were charming and the food was delicious. It really tasted like a cooked meal, not a microwaved/steamed kind of junk you can easily get in other restaurants for the same price. Recommended.
Great service and food - Crepes a la Gundel
are to die for. Already recommended you to my friends going to visit Cracow in september. Keep on the excellent work.
We liked this new one. We were unadventurous and tried the goulash, which was nevertheless excellent. Perhaps the best goulash we've had in Krakow. Weird goose dripping served in dainty cups with chili - surprisingly tasty. Would go back
