A very pleasant Italian that actually feels more Latin than most efforts. You'll find it secreted away in the Pugetow Palace complex, just a couple of minutes walk from the Main Post Office. Settle into the rustic interior for a taste of some classic Mediterranean fare. All the favouites are up for grabs, from Carpaccio to Saltimbocca, as well as a good range of pastas. Il Calzone also does a fine line in pizzas. Prices are reasonable and the flower-bedecked summer garden makes for an inviting retreat from the hustle and bustle.

I waited for my order for too long. People who came after us got their orders faster. I guess polish citizens receive their food faster than people of other nationalities.
Waiter screamed on me and was very rude.
Pizza was just terrible. Shrimps were too salted, my salad was terrible. All food here is disgusting
STAFF IS RUDE!!! THEY DISCRIMINATE PEOPLE BY NATIONALITY AND SAY THAT “THEY MAKE RULES HERE!” THEY DECIDED TO BE RUDE TO US BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THAT WE ARE UKRAINIANS, WHAT IS THE HELL!? We came from Germany and paid for everything we ordered. We just wanted to pay and leave earlier because they ruined our evening! From the beginning we were badly served and waited too long. We wanted to have a good time there but instead we had awful food and faced discrimination, rude attitude and getting personal. The person who spoke to us seems to be an owner of this place because “he makes the rules”.
In italian place they said that they cook polish food. If so I guess Italian dishes should be removed from the menu.
Food is not tasty at all, it feels like it was cooked long time ago and just warmed up. Pizza is really bad. Pasta is bad! Chicken is super dry. Even tiramisu was awful. Waiting time is around 40-60 mins. Chairs are not comfortable.
This Italian restaurant with beautiful garden lasts in Krakow for about 15 years. They serve simple but delicious pasta, ravioli, risotto, original main courses, great pizzas and various deserts. They offer also uniques seasonal menu and they have big selection of wines (not only from Italy). Firendly professional waiters work there for long time - they know how to take care about their customers, you can feel good atmosphere there. If you visit once its gonna be one of your favourite places.
Przyjemne miejsce i fajna obsługa. Wyszliśmy zachwyceni! Na pewno wrócimy.
THis is place is a little gem around 10mins from the main square. The soups were delicous and the lasagne was lovely. Everyone was happy with the food, drinks and the service. We made sure to leave a tip as they deserved it. You really cant go wrong, as good as italians get.
Il Calzone is centrally located just off the main thoroughfare - Starowisna - that leads to the market square. It has the benefit of both indoor and outdoor seating. We had the pleasure of dining in the garden area. Good food, good service, good value. An excellent selection of wines and the food was very very good. Highly recommend this restaurant. Would suggest making a reservation.
the menu card is vey nice, the dishes we choose were excellent, the service was very friendly and polite, the environment was very nice, prices were very reasonnable. we can recommend this restaurant to everyone.
My wife and I were in this restaurant last week and it was brilliant. A superb menu, some of which was quite inventive and the food was excellent. We ate a three course meal with wine, ending with Krupnick, for just over £40. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. They had the knack of giving you space and presented a very unrushed atmosphere allowing suficient time to both choose from the menu and chat between courses. Do try the panna cotta, it's heaven!! If you are in Kracow do visit this restaurant, I do not think you will be disappointed.
We had a superb meal in Il Calzone. We were absolutely delighted by every aspect of this restaurant-the food was to the highest standard, the staff were attentive and the price was very reasonable. If you want a really good meal in Krakow, this is the place to go.
fantastic service and food, chicken liver starter must be tried. Will visit again on our return to this superb city/country.
The food here was great and the service was very fast. I couldn't get over how cheap everything was in Krakow!
Would definitely recommend Il Calzone, I'll be going back next time I'm in Krakow.
Excellent food & service very cheap. Ate there more than once. Thanks to waiter Sebastian for all his help.
Excellent food with very good value! The garden is really nice especially in the evening and the service is friendly and very professional. Highly recommended!
This place was amazing. Service was first class and the food was lovely! The "tagliata di manzo" is a must as well as the salmon with vegetables!
My mushroom porcelini tortelli was absolutely superb and the house wine i found both reasonable and tasteful.
Also to the man who said pizzas didnt deserve to be on the menu - he must live on another planet as both my siblings enjoyed theirs very much and they have lived in Italy for many years.
I VISITED THE IL CALZONE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS DURING MY STAY IN KRAKOW APRIL 08. THE LAMB IN RED WINE SAUCE IS AMAZING
Very good meal at a reasonable price. The calzone was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Just ate a delightful meal on their outside patio. Off the main road, so quite quiet. Pizza was good although proscuitto (on the menu) was delivered as regular ham. My wife enjoyed the spaghetti with porcini mushrooms. The pana cotta with blackberries was a great finish! And all for a reasonable price!
