In a city where nostalgia oftens sets the tone, a more modern approach can make for a refreshing change. This restaurant is one of the better examples of the current trend for a more pared down, clean-cut look, and the food itself is fantastic. Lemonday occupies the ground floor of the elegant new Hotel Pod Wawelem, and as the name suggests, you really are right at the foot of Wawel Castle, so if the weather's good, don't miss the chance to have a drink on the rooftop bar. On a more blustery day you can warm the cockles downstairs and savour some superbly delivered international fare.
