As part of the prestigious Jagiellonian Univeristy in Krakow, the Centre for Polish Language and Culture in the World offers comprehensive programmes for students interested not only in grammar and spelling but also in
understanding Polish literature, theatre, film, history, and society. This multi-faceted approach attracts 300-400 students per semester. Study options include single semester or full year programmes in Polish Language and Culture. Visiting Erasmus and graduate students also have courses
specifically tailored to their needs. The School of Polish Language and Culture, which is part of the Centre, offers short intensive programs all
year round, non-intensive semester courses, individual lessons, lessons over the Internet, and a Summer School, each year attracting hundreds of students from dozens of countries. A reliable choice from Poland's most respected educational institution.

I studied abroad in the Spring of 2009 and had Beata as a teacher for beginner's polish. She was absolutely wonderful and had a lot of patience as I struggled to remember some words. The course was well laid out and helped me to get around the city. I wish I had stayed longer because I would have certainly learned the language quickly with this program! Also, the class was fun and not boring which helped me to learn quickly. I looked forward to going every week!
They also offer 3 & 4 week summer programs in July that I highly recommend!! I was in the 4 week program with the "Art & Archittecture" track so I learned less Polish but had a wonderful time seeing A LOT of Krakow in that period! You know, it was "one of those summers" you will always remember!
As a can advocate of learning new languages, I went into this experience with high hopes and I am glad to say they were not only upheld but excelled! My teacher (Beata S-B) was superb at her job, made everyone feel relaxed and was able to efficiently teach us all we needed to know in order to get by at this level of Polish. The course also encouraged me to further my learning on an individual level, but with the added advantage that the course gave me enough of a grounding and orientation so that I understood the points I was trying to learn. The beginner course I took was well-structured and not in the least bit boring- in fact most lessons rather rushed past with the bonus of learning lots! I have come out of this experience with a well rounded general basic knowledge of the language and a keen desire to learn further. As a mark of this, I am actually remaining in Kraków this summer in order to continue my learning! Dziękuję!
