Editor's review
The West End has more than its share of pubs, but Dutch-themed De Hems has got the bonus of being one of the least claustrophobic " upstairs often has seats and tables free when other nearby pubs are heaving to capacity. That’s not to say De Hems doesn’t have its own charms. This traditional English-style pub’s history has been tied with the tradition and culture of the Netherlands, and it’s possible to sample many delicious Dutch snacks and beers here. Throughout its history, De Hems has been frequented by actors, writers, gangsters, and musicians - not surprising for a Soho pub. Today, it’s simply a reliable spot for a beer in the heart of bustling central London.
