Reviews of Hotels in Lviv
The bathrooms in this hotel are extremely old and worn and not in the least clean-looking (lots of permanent stains). I do think they are clean, but the permanent stains make them seem horribly dirty. Very bad bathrooms in my opinion. The room was old but clean and perfectly adequate . Tons of heat- very cozy. The amazing breakfast makes up for any deficiencies in the rooms. It was by far the best breakfast buffet, beautifully prepared food as well as beautifully displayed. Huge amount s of food - all great ! Could not be better. Nice location - close to park. Can't understand why our bathrooms were so horrible . Other people's comments don't mention that. Also - had no hot water in the shower for 48 hrs.
Do not forget when you comment so well about Lviv, that it was Lwów and a very pleasant city in the east of Poland. Since the post 1945 partition of eastern Poland the city of Lwów has gone to ruins. Lwów was a wealthy market town on the north-south and east-west trade routes across central Europe for generations. Lwów had always had a reputation in Poland for its academic and intellectual background and the city was well renowned for its reputation for supplying top rate doctors to Polish society.
Cool hostel! Very nice accommodations, clean and cosy. The best place to stay while travelling with friends. Helpful staff: organized excursions, tickets to the theatre! Free wifi, so after nice day discovering historical Lviv, you can connect to Internet and chat with friends. Thank you for pleasant stay!
we tried to book Kosmonaut , but there was no answer , and we stayed in Roxelana Hostel . It was great experience in Roxelana Hostel , they build new showers , bathrooms , each guest has its own safety deposite box , storage box , wi-fi , free breakfast. great breath taking castle ! very nice clean hostel.
very nice hotel on the hill above a city park with pleasant views, conveniently located near 2 biggest Lviv universities. Nice clean rooms, good restaurant, very nice, helpful staff
A decent hotel to stay in. Lots of character, and probably the best location in the city.
I've just returned from Eney Hotel and I definitely recommend it. It is located in a walking distance from the main square. Main advantages of the Eney are: clean rooms with free internet, nice pool, very good hot breakfasts, guarded parking and convenient location with acces by car. The personnel were very helpful, friendly and professional. Extremely good value restaurant. I travel a lot for my work, but this is absolute the best hotel I was ever in. It really enjoyed being there.
Mighty posh! But we were still made to feel very welcome great stuff
It was my first visit to Lviv and I stayed at this hotel - just terrific!!! The rooms and facilities are renewed, though the spirit of the history is preserved; the hall is impressive and the atmosphere, created by the staff is very hospitable and warm.
A beautiful hotel. Impeccable rooms.
It has a certain old-school charm to it.
we came to Lwiw with our folkgroup, and younger dancers with tutors r live in this hostel. There was great, becouse it leave near the centrum and we had near to all the city. The workers r very nice and helpful. thanks for super time in Lviv;p ;***
Best if the George is left exactly as it is, lumpy beds and all. I'll be back for the third time on 15 April to see more of Lviv and Uzhgorod.
Scruffy but full of character. The best thing is the bar on the ground floor with its mozaic decorations on the wall - a blast from the communist past!
Excellent hotel. Pleasant staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms. The hotel is in a great location, and looks classic on hte outside, and classic, with a modern twist inside.
Stayed at kosmonaut with my 5 children and 2 grandkids, the staff are very helpfull and speak good english. it was freezing when we arrived in ukraine, but the kos was lovely and warm, stayed for 3 days and would reccomend it.
Yeah it s seen better days but it has tonnes of atmosphere.
The atmosphere at the Kos is fabulous. I intended to stay for around 3 days, it ended up that I stayed 7 times longer. Yes! 7 times longer, (3 weeks) the owner is Australian and full of fun, he will tell you the best places to go in the city. If for any reason heís not around, the 24 hour receptions speaks very good English, and are truly happy to be of help. I have got to say ìThe Kosmonautî is home from home. You will feel very safe at the Kos and the location is seconds away from all the main attractions. In other words youíre on top of everything youíll need. I would recommend a restaurant, but I can not remember the name, or I should say I can not spell it. The owner, Eddy will tell you. (Itís on the same side of the road as the Kos, about 20 meters, on the corner) All the locals go to this place. A substantial meal will cost you less than 30 Ukraine, less than £3. A beer 40p/50 cents. Ukraine people are the best I have come across, you will not be disappointed. Once you visit this place you will remember it all your days. Happy travelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TONY LIVERPOOL
I stayed here for a couple of nights on my first visit to Lviv. I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to go back. Owner and all staff were friendly and helpful and the place has a very welcoming atmosphere. Good facilities, info, location, etc, etc. In fact, location is so good I even managed to find my way back to it on my own when I got separated from my friend after a night out on the 'horilka'. If I can find it, anyone can! Andy, London
As a frequent traveler to Ukraine and Poland, the Cosmonaut is a very welcome place. It is the best value and choice for budget stay on Lviv. It is central as listed with friendly, multi-lingual staff who make your stay great. There is information on all to see and do in Lviv and beyond plus assistance for further travel and lodging. Bathrooms are also great and very nice for hostels. Come see Lviv before all start to come to make it crowded and expensive like Praha and Krakow have become. There are many places to eat, drink and be merry in the area also. Enjoy!
This was my first time in Lviv, and finding the Kos was so easy... (i usually get lost). Amazingly close to the center, which is super. I cant emphasize enough - location location location. At first glance, looking from the street #8, I was a little concerned, also going up the stairs wasnt too welcoming.. then bam! Inside its buzzling with life at the Kos. fun atmosphere. Nice receptionist, immediately I mingled with fellow travellers and shared war stories... I arrived at 6AM at Lviv, and headed to Kos around 8. There was breakfast there, so I ate. very warm atmosphere. BTW, room #4 (4Beds)is the closest to kitchen, so if you want sleep during day, forget that rooom.=) Everyone was helpful, and yes, i would go back.
Full of atmosphere but desperately in need of a refurb! Breakfasts were rather good, service nothing to write home about but adequate. Has to be said that, with the shortage of hotels in Lviv (and the expense) that the George offers some of the best deals with its excellent location. But the 'faded grandeur' and primitive washing facilities might wear a bit thin after a few days.
We actually stayed elsewhere but we had a look in here and it certainly looked very good and we thought we might try it next time! We'll certainly return to Lviv!
What a hotel! Just great! The city itself is a bit run donw but still beautiful, and the Grand was an excellent base to explore. I am sure that once Ukraine joins the European Union, this will be the new Prague! Lovely, friendly people.
what's i can says,is nothings bad. I was spotted by police and the hotel manager proven it i'm the customer without showing my passport. I think i'm the only asian and the first staying in the hotel. All staff very helpfull.Althought few can speek english but they can read your mind. Room? well this one maybe need some improve.Hope i will here again to have fun with snow and have ukraine food with my associate.
No complaints about the Grand. West European standards and great location. Would go back, next time hopefully not on a business trip...
We arrived late, driving from Prymzl crossing was scary and the crossing itself was as organized as a six-year old's rules for hide-and-seek, but imagine that the child was stoned, the strength of eight men, and a machete... The Hotel Grand was remarkably pleasent after that, and the next morning, we still thought the same. Try the Garlic Soup!
Very fancy!
Definitely one of your better bets. Straightforward but decent. Relatively new so not much wear and tear yet.... Good coffee downstairs.
Western standards and wonderful setting. The George seemed more 'atmospheric' but looked a bit decayed.
I had the opportunity of staying at the Hotel George for two nights. I found the staff very accomodating. The rooms, washrooms and showers were very clean and the breakfasts were tastey and ample. I would recommend it for service and location.
It definitely has atmosphere, but one day could benefit from a major overhaul! The bedrooms could be improved!
I stayed in Hotel Eney on my recent trip to Lviv. Very pleasant, clean, modern and welcoming hotel in a quiet, convenient and picturesque location, with super dining room and friendly staff. I would certainly recommend and would return there should I overnight in Lviv again.
It's a walk to central Lviv but we enjoyed having the peace and quiet. The staff were friendly which made the difference.
