For those who want an aquatic experience that isn’t necessarily at the beach, the Venetian Pool is an ideal - and one-of-a-kind - alternative. Created from a coral rock quarry in the 1920s, the fresh spring water comes from an underground aquifer. The pool is a great place to spend the day and admire views of the scenic Coral Gables, much of which was constructed from the pool’s limestone back in the day. Visitors enjoy swimming and exploring the landscape scattered with grottos and waterfalls. Hours vary throughout the year, so checking the website before a visit is recommended.
