Editor's review
The history of the Ancient Spanish Monastery dates back to 1133 AD in Spain, inhabited by monks for nearly 700 years. William Randolph Hearst purchased the buildings in the mid-1920s and had them shipped to the United States in pieces, though they sat in a Brooklyn warehouse for decades. Fortunately, wealthy entrepreneurs later purchased the property and opened it as a tourist attraction, which now also serves as an active bilingual congregation.
