Editor's review
Y Gallery, and its adjoining Malako cafe, shop, and bookstore, is undoubtedly the best place to go in Minsk to become acquainted with contemporary art culture in this rapidly transforming region. Devoted to pushing the local art scene forward, Y Gallery makes a special effort to exhibit innovative Belarusian artists. The gallery also does some serious contributions in art education, with lectures and workshops a regular occurrence in the Y's space. It's a little difficult to find though - get off at Victory Square metro station, and make your way behind the huge building wrapped around the north-western corner of the square. Y Gallery and Malako cafe are hidden in the courtyard.
