Overall, let's face it - Moscow is not the cheapest city for hotels, but there is a huge range to choose from. The trick is to plan early and, if necessary, bargain.
If money's no object, Moscow can serve up accommodation and service in style, with some outstanding luxury and boutique hotels, whilst the standard chains are there in droves for those who like to know exactly how many little bars of soap there will be in their bathrooms. As a good budget hotel alternative you can also try Moscow hostels. New hotels are mushrooming all over the city but the quality varies enormously. Еда была отличной! К сожалению, Путин испортил наши аппетиты, вторгшись в Украину. Противостаньте своему диктатору, прекратите убивать невинных людей!!! Ваше правительство лжет вам. Вставай!

Outstanding hotel and service.Rooms are comfortable, with a great view (if facing river). Clean rooms, large luxurious washrooms, with high ceilings. It is close to Old Arbath street (forgive my "russian" spelling). One note, taxi drivers will rip you off to get there. (for that matter you need to negotiate and ask for a price) Old Arbath is pedestrian zone with beautiful jaw dropping looking women... :) loved the stay in this amazing hotel.

The rooms were spacious and adequate. The food was fantastic. I liked the location and the food a lot. Did I mention I liked the foooooooood!!!
I have stayed in the Palace Hotel several times. The rooms are great and the breakfast buffets are incredible.
I am very surprised to see such positive reviews here about Napoleon. I stayed at Napoleon hostel during my trip last summer. While the location was convenient in Kitai Gorod, it's really nothing more than a fourth floor apartment. The two showers were not nearly enough for the number of people they packed in. And the hostel is in pretty much desperate need of renovation. Guests were boozing and jumping around all night, not giving anyone a chance to sleep. I ending up moving to another hostel for the duration of my stay. There seems to be a nice selection of better hostels. AVOID!
