One of Moscow's 'High Buildings', or so-called Seven Sisters, the Hotel Ukraina is part of the dubious architectural legacy that Stalin gifted the city during his reign. A big bruiser of a building the Ukraina was intended to show the world what the Soviet regime was capable of, and it certainly is an impressive - albeit somewhat grotesque - sight. Apart from the chance to survey Communist architecture up close, one of the best reasons for staying at the Ukraina are the amazing views over the Moskva river (the hotel is perched on the West bank) and the panorama of the city from the observation points atop of the 34th floor. Prospective guests should note that the Ukraina is undergoing rennovations as of 2007, so inquire how this will affect your stay.

Outstanding hotel and service.Rooms are comfortable, with a great view (if facing river). Clean rooms, large luxurious washrooms, with high ceilings. It is close to Old Arbath street (forgive my "russian" spelling). One note, taxi drivers will rip you off to get there. (for that matter you need to negotiate and ask for a price) Old Arbath is pedestrian zone with beautiful jaw dropping looking women... :) loved the stay in this amazing hotel.

The Hotel Ukraina unfortunately closed its doors forever. Nowadays, it is a Radisson Hotel. I haven't been there yet, but I cannot imagine, that it still has the same old charme, like it used to be. And the prices...

I stayed here April 2006 and I LOVED it!!! The common areas were GORGEOUS! My room was nothing special but, I understand they have remodeled! It was reasonably priced ($120 per night) and the bar/observation deck at the top made for some great pictures!! 10 min. walk (at the most) to the Kievskaya Metro. Very easy!! The breakfast buffet was great!! There were a lot of American's staying there too (some kid's hockey teams, and adoptive couples). Nice litle gift shop, in case you haven't spent enough out at the Izmailov Flea Market!! Would stay there again and again!! Actually curious to see the renovations!

This is an excellent hotel, one of the best in which I have taken a room in some time. The rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms luxurious, and the food at the breakfast buffet excellent and abundant. I will return the next time I am in Moscow, and would recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Hotel Ukraine Is a wonderful hotel, my wife and I have stayed there a couple times and just wonderful place within walking distance from the Arbot and Casinos and if your lucky you can have a view of the Russian White house across the river. No matter what side you stay on go to the top and see the magnificant view and don't forget to have coffee while there.

Then in the morning go down stairs for breakfast buffet wow I've never seen such food. You will definately enjoy this hotel
