Cheap and cheerful sum up By The Way Hostel, which offers a warm and friendly, no-frills welcome right in the centre of Poznań.
Each room has security lockers for your personal possessions, and free wireless internet access. There is a kitchen for guests, with free tea and coffee, and breakfast and bed linen are included in the very reasonable prices.
A great point about By The Way is that, not only are the staff multi-lingual and able to offer tips about the best places to visit in the city (and how to get to them!), it's also got enough tourist information to open its own bureau - so you will always know what's going on, whatever time of year you arrive.
