Stary Browar Extension Opened

The huge shopping and cultural centre on the site of a former brewery, Stary Browar has just gotten bigger. On 11 March 2007 the second part of the shopping centre opened, nearly doubling its size by adding an additional 57,000 m to the existing 65,000 m. The expansion is a result of over two years of planning and construction and over 68.6 million spent. So what's taking up all this new space? Primarily, shops, as 110 additional stores now call the Stary Browar home, making the total 205. With all the added shops come added customers, and with the added customers come their cars - but luckily the new area includes 600 more parking spaces.

New to the shopping centre are an Alma delicatessen, offering a vast selection of imported, gourmet, and organic foods, as well as several offshoots of the Empik Media Fashion group. With all these new shops, chances are the Stary Browar will be packed with customers for months to come, especially as tourist season gets underway in Poznan. Judging from its hectic opening weekend, the centre will be quite crowded, to the delight of investors and shopping enthusiasts alike!
