Euro 2012 Comes To Poznan
Poznan is celebrating as a result of Poland and Ukraine's successful bid to host Euro 2012. Poznan, which has a long football history, will be among four Polish cities to host matches, others being Gdansk, Warsaw and Wroclaw. Matches will also be played in the Ukrainian cities of Dniepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kiev and Lviv. Krakow and Chorzow will have to wait patiently as they have the task of being replacement cities should anything go wrong in any of the host cities.
Major works are expected to be carried out in Poznan, in order to raise the infrastructure to the required level in order to host such a prestigious event as Euro 2012. Poznan, already a vibrant and energetic city, is likely to benefit from it's good transport links with Europe, especially as it is on the main Berlin to Warsaw train line. It is likely that crowds will flock to the city in order to soak up the atmosphere and the fervor that a major football brings with it.
Bring on Euro 2012, Poznan awaits with a warm welcome for football and non football fans from all over Europe.
