Planning for Euro 2012

This week, further plans for the Euro 2012 football tournament, which will be taking place in several Polish and Ukrainian cities including Poznan, have been launched in a meeting in Lviv, Ukraine. The meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation among Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Poznan, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kiev and Lviv as the event approaches, to make sure all cities are ready for the tournament in 2012. But it wasn't just Polish and Ukrainian experts that were invited; rather, the international forum included delegations from Poland, Germany, France, the UK, Russia and regions of Ukraine, all sharing their experience in organizing sporting events on such a massive scale.

While the football tournament will provide an opportunity for Polish and Ukrainian cities to improve their infrastructure and will bring in money to the countries, there is still plenty of work to be done before either country is ready to host such a grand event, and the meeting hopes to facilitate the process.
