Poland and Ukraine Okayed for Euro 2012
UEFA President Michel Platini was all optimism about the oncoming Euro 2012 Championships during his visit to Poland last week.
While presiding over the draw in Warsaw for the preliminary play-offs, Platini said that ""enormous efforts have been undertaken by Poland and Ukraine and their football federations."
Poznan itself is one of the lucky cities to be hosting some of the action. The Western Polish city will be staging 3 group matches in the tournament. The city's football stadium is currently being reconstructed and expanded for the event.
Meanwhile, the bookies are already placing odds for the 2012 clash. The English are especially pleased with their draw - they're to come up against relative lightweights Switzerland, Wales, Bulgaria and Montenegro in the qualifying rounds.
