Filmasia

Filmasia, a festival of Asian films, will be showing from November 30th through December 12th at the Aero and Svetozor cinemas. In the 2006 installment, the focus will be on Taiwanese movies, featuring several films by Hsiao-hsien Hou, a Chinese-born screenwriter and director who was raised and educated in Taiwan. Contemporary Chinese and Taiwanese cinema will be shown as well, and even some South Korean horror flicks for the Asian horror junkies.

And good news for English speakers: the film's opening premier, Hsiao-hsien Hou's "Three Times" (Zui hao de shi guang) will be subtitled in English, as will be several other showings. A full schedule is available on the festival's website.
