Exhibition: "Exoticisms"

The exhibition "Exoticisms in 20th-century Art in Bohemia and Moravia" has been a long time in the making, and will be exhibited at the Czech Museum of Fine Arts through the 17th of February. The exhibition features 20th-century art inspired by a love of the exotic, focusing on a post-modern return to the past, mythology and exotic themes though also the inspiration of traditional folk culture. Whether it's from the Far East, the Near East, Africa, Russia, Australia and Oceania, the inspiration by exotica was a powerful trend during the 20th century, and the influences can be seen in the artworks displayed.
