Havel Library to Move to Prague Castle
Inspired by American presidential libraries, the Vaclav Havel Library was created in 2004 to house the works of the thinker, playwright, poet, and former Czech president. Currently split in two locations, the library is planned to move to a new location at the Prague Castle which is currently under renovation.
The library will not only house the works of its namesake but many related documents on modern Czech history. The space will also host public debates, exhibitions, and concerts. Over 8 million euro will go towards the reconstruction, designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, of the palace where the library will be located.
The move is set to be completed in two years.
