EU flag hoisted up at Prague Castle

In the presence of European Commission chief Manuel Barosso, Czech president Milo? Zeman raised the flag of the European Union at the president's seat. As Radio Prague reports, it's the first time since the Czech Republic's accession to the EU in 2004 that the ensign flies at the Prague Castle.
By this action, Zeman distinguishes himself from his predecessor, the eurosceptic V?clav Klaus. During his period of government, Klaus refused to set up the blue flag with the yellow stars, although the banner can be seen on other governmental buildings throughout the city.
After the hoisting ceremony, Milo? Zeman underlined his pro-European position ratifying the EU's rescue fund with his signature.
