Editor's review
Well worth taking a detour to visit this hidden gem in Prague 10. Popular with local artists, actors and musicians (one of the original members of The Plastic People of the Universe is pictured above), the Cafe Sladkovsky rocks a 1920’s Parisian vibe, laid back, friendly, and with a surprisingly diverse menu including Italian, Arabic, Indian and American dishes also, rare in Prague, a selection of authentic Spanish tapas, and one of the best English breakfasts around. Service can be slow but the quality of the food make it worth the wait. Try the Unetice beer, reckoned by cognoscenti to be even better than its more illustrious Czech rivals, or a Grappa or French Pastis, and enjoy hanging out with a genuinely bohemian crowd in this edgy district of the city.
