Hangar Bar is a stylish retro theme bar celebrating the golden age of 1940’s-60’s aviation with female staff or ‘cabin crew’ dressed in sexy Pan Am Airlines stewardess outfits (worth a visit for that alone?) The Pilot’s Lounge on the upper floor is good for trying one of the expertly mixed signature cocktails or bar food including cheeseburgers, ribs, quesadillas and pastrami sandwiches, all inexpensive by old town standards and decent quality. In the Hangar Club below aircraft engines decorate the walls while flamboyant bartenders really camp it up with their flaming bottles and bar tricks adding to the raucous atmosphere. The bar really comes alive after midnight and keeps going until 6am at weekends, making it one of the area’s most popular DJ bars for both locals and tourists in the mood for dancing and nostalgic fun.
