A real favourite daytime and early evening hangout with expats and local students, the Standard Cafe serves coffees, cakes, soups, quiche and paninis, and features the excellent Bernard beer on draft (both light and dark varieties), as well as seasonal beers from smaller Czech breweries. The arty, relaxed atmosphere and local vibe is a refreshing change from most of the more hectic cafes and bars in the area, making the Standard well worth finding to spend a few chilled out hours in chatting with friends or surfing the web. Currently smoking is permitted throughout, but this policy is changing fast in many similar establishments in Prague, so may not be true by the time you read this.
