Editor's review
100-year-old Parisian-style cafe with an opulent interior and an old world ambiance, befitting Cafe Louvre’s status as a regular hangout for some of Prague’s most eminent 20th century figures (it was also a favourite with the country’s Second World War Nazi occupiers, apparently the reason it was trashed during the communist coup of 1948). Massive range of options for breakfast, all in the 2-3 euro bracket, while both lunch and dinner menu prices are surprisingly reasonable given the historic setting and central Prague location. Also great to drop in for an intellectual chat over a tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and to enjoy the four billiard tables, chess, table ice hockey and other board games available to customers.
