You're in Spain, or more precisely Catalonia, so any worries that the cuisine might not be up to scratch can be cast aside - along with your umbrella.
The Catalans love their food, and indeed some of the best chefs in the world hail from these very shores, most notably the man who invented molecular gastronomy - Ferran Adria. And whilst locals lamented the introduction of Burger King, which landed on Carrer de Marqus Montroig, fear not because you'll find plenty of restaurants in Sitges which serve local specialities such as tapas, seafood and xato. The latter is the town's most typical dish, a salad of cod, tuna, anchovies, aubergines and black olives dressed with a sauce of chilli and toasted almonds - delicious! Aside from excellent Catalan/Spanish cuisine, Sitges' cosmopolitan nature means there's also a glut of top class international restaurants, serving everything from sushi to South American steaks. Enjoyed with a sea breeze and a glass of Malvasia or local wine from the Penedes region of Spain and you're sure to enjoy many a memorable meal on this stretch of the Costa Brava.
We go to Sitges a couple of times every year. This place always looks good but we won't ever go back. Last couple of visits the service was poor but we thought we would give it another go. Unfortunately the service was once again awful. Staff are sullen and rude. Bad attitudes and act as though they are doing you a favour by allowing you in. Real shame because it looks good. Arrogance loses you customers though.
The food isn't bad and it is a very lively atmosphere but the service was slow and they are actually quite rude. Not a pleasant experience overall.
Terrible Service. Waiters are rude and have no manners. The environment is not nice, too noisy and chaotic. Also the price doesnt help, for simple tapas it's quite expensive.
Avoid this place like the plague! My friend and I decided to give this place a try after reading some decent reviews from a couple of places. I was seriously left disappointed. Do not waste your money on this tapas place. There are plenty of better places out there in Sitges with better service and quality food. I was first confronted by the rudest bar server everrrrrrr. This woman had an awful attitude and kept rolling her eyes as I was trying to make a decision as to which tapas to have (I should have simply walked out of the bar by then). After ordering bravas and calamares, I asked if I could just simply order tap water but was totally refused and told that I HAVE to order a bottled drink. I'm sorry...but what type of tapas bar refuses to serve tap water to a customer. When the food arrived, everything was absolutely below par. The patatas bravas was drenched with pounds of oil and mayo. The calamares a la romana tasted bland (and I mean BLAND) and had a soggy batter coating. I just can't comprehend why people would want to waste money in a place with bad service and awful food.
