Recently refurbished according to the schemes of top designer Olga Polizzi, the Angleterre offers 193 swishly decorated rooms and suites to prospective guests. Once you've finished fiddling with your new toys, which include satellite TV, air conditioning, safes and internet access, you'll want to explore the hotel's first class facilities. From taking a dip in the Angleterre's swimming pool to having a flutter in the casino there's plenty of things for James Bond wannabes to be getting on with. A perfect location - opposite St Isaac's Cathedral, and an underarm throw away from the Hermitage - ticks the final box.
