Tallinn office celebrates 15th anniversary

The 15th anniversary of the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Estonia is being celebrated with a seminar on 12 May during the Sixth Nordic Poetry Festival.

The Nordic Council opened information offices in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania several months before the three Baltic States reasserted their independence in 1991 and their 15th anniversaries are being celebrated in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius this spring. Riga kicked off the fun in April. The festivities in Lithuania take place on 23 May.

Welfare and economic growth in North Europe inspired by the report The Nordic Region as a Global Winner is the subject for the seminar in Tallinn. Speakers will include the Estonian Minister for Regional Affairs, Jaan unapuu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Toomas Hendrik Ilves MEP and the Secretary General of the Nordic Council of Ministers, Per Unckel.

Participants in the poetry festival include: Magssanguaq Qujaukitsoq, Greenland, rarinn Eldjrn, Iceland, Joni Pyysalo and Peter Mickwitz, Finland, Ida Brjel and Simon Marainen, Sweden, Anne Be, Norway, Peter Laugesen, Denmark and Sigri Gaini from the Faroe Islands.
