The Astoria is another stalwart of Vienna's coterie of grand hotels. It first opened it's ornate doors in 1912, in the twilight of Habsburg rule. The flavour of those cosmopolitan days endures to some degree here. And you shouldn't struggle to bag a room, as the Astoria is endowed with a generous 118 strings to its bow. As you'd expect from a four star hotel, the Astoria comes with all the latest amenities to enhance your comfort, and there are also extensive facilities for business travellers. Guests can walk straight out onto the Karntner Strasse - equvilant to Madrid's Gran Via - chock full of fabulous architecture and shops.
