Reviews of Cafes in Vienna
Had a lovely time here. Staff were so helpful ensuring we got nice seats & bringing beautiful pastries to our table. Loved it so much we came back next day
The coffee was good. Ambience was good Waiter was rude, impatient. Felt belittled by his behavior. Human interaction is so important and they need to improve that. I won't go there again. I can find a good coffee and a nice building anywhere in Vienna
A marvellous Vienna institution
The food is good, the pastries delicious, the atmosphere is great and it is in center of old Vienna.
I love it!

Never miss a meal at Cafe Central when I visit Vienna. The schnitzel hanging off the plate and the strudel with vanilla sauce - leaves me almost immobile but what the heck! Schoen!

Just had a really good meal here (Jan 2012). Pleasant & helpful staff. Great accompaniment on piano.

I love Aida! After cold days of shopping, it's a cozy place to warm up in with a cup of hot chocolate! Order the HOMEMADE hot choc w whipped cream- a bit more cost wise, but soooo delicious! My husband aslo loves the banana layered cake. Wish I were sitting there now!

Not really, I had a sacher cake there and it was really dry, tasted like a normal chocolate cake which has been left over in the fridge for at least 1 week.

I thing it was best Caféhouse ever. Mér fannst þetta besta kaffihús í heimi.

Horrible coffee, tasted like someone threw some dirty socks into some hot water. The cakes are ok but.

Absolutely delicious cake, best I've ever ate. So good, hard to describe. Pleasant personnel, excellent desert, what else. Recommending without any doubts. Do go there, you won't regret.

Visited Vienna in June 2010 and Cafe Sperl was on my must-visit list. Had a wonderful lunch under the trees outside with three friends. The food was tremendous. Yes, the service was slow, but it was crowded. One of my best memories of Vienna.

This cafe has the atmosphere, but the waiters were not exactly quick, nor particularly friendly. Better options elsewhere.

I wonder if this is the same family that run the Hawelka Cafes and Restaurant in Krakow?

I spent one year as exchange student in Vienna back in 2001-2002. I used to go to Cafe Sperl weekly, sometimes daily and I must admit it's very cosy and not full of tourists. I left my heart in there...

I go there every Christmas on my annual trip To Vienna. One time I was fortunate enough to be there while a pianist was playing Strauss. I thought I had died and gone to heaven! It is a treat not to be missed on your trip to Wein.
As far as ambiance goes.....it's fair, I mean you can't eat the ambiance when one is starving. Cafe Central (site of the film) Bride of the Wind is MUCH nicer - enjoy!
I was so exited to go there, after all it is one of the cafes that Johann Strauss played his music. It was cold outside and granted we had about 45 minutes till closing. the waiters totally ignored us and after about 40 minutes someone finally came over to ask if we wanted coffee, when we were all starved. If you insist on visiting this establishment be prepared for total rudeness and waiting for an eternity.
