'At the Black Camel' is a Viennese institution that's been around since 1618. Extraordinarily enough, it's remained in the same hands all those years. However, they don't ladle on the baroque here - the muted, wood-panelled decor lends the local a homely air, and it's clear that the Black Camel is in fact something of a second home to many Viennese. Don't expect to see too many chaps sporting mohicans, this is a decidedly old school affair that's awash with ruddy-faced fellows in search of hair of the dog. The delicatessen offers an irresistable array of canapes - just the right thing for a Saturday morning brunch. For more substantial fare, head next door to the main restaurant pictured above.

Visited three times. Food and service very nice. However I am very allergic to garlic. When Anna took care of us no problem. Sebastian did not and I have been vert sick since
We had the best glass of wine in Vienna with ham and horse radish sandwiches. The cafe is classy even if it is on the side walk. I will go there any time Ill have an opportunity.
