Editor's review
Although the Jewish people were the worst persecuted in the second world war, the Tolerance Centre in Vilnius advocates the values of freedom and equality for all - standing against active hatred and apathy from all quarters. The Centre houses a permanent exhibition of art and cultural items, which demonstrate just what level of creativity was bubbling under the surface in Lithuania and could have blossomed had it not been for the brutal anti-semitism that swept Europe. There are temporary exhibitions too, and regular live events and ongoing projects.
