Established in 1958 by famous Lithuanian actor and director, Balys Lukosius, Theatre 'Lele' has staged performances in many European, Asian and African countries and in the US. With a twenty-title repertoire of popular world and Lithuanian fairy tales, performances are primarily geared toward children, and shown in the morning or afternoon. Occasional performances for adults take place in the evenings. The direction of these performances is excellent and the design of the puppets ranges from plushly Henson to macabrely Burtonesque. You may not understand the dialogue, but you probably know the story and will surely appreciate the artistry. A real treat.

Turns out some of their 'adult' performances, which occur in the evening, are puppet-free. It was a letdown, but I'd give them another crack - it's a cool theatre and I did catch part of a morning performance for children which was inspired and looked like a lot of fun for everyone.
