Editor's review
The Zaliasis Tiltas, or 'Green Bridge,' once bore the name of a Red Army general, but its current bright green (not red) paint-job put an end to that. Still, it's hard to overlook the four massive Soviet sculptures at its corners; in fact, you shouldn't. The only bridge in Vilnius boasting sculptures of any kind, these sterling examples of social-realism are the only communist monuments left in the city-centre. Seems the townspeople liked them too much to let them go, or a least get a laugh out of seeing them on their daily commute across the Neris river. The four communist couples cornering the bridge represent agriculture, industry, peace and youth, respectively.
