Reviews of Travel & Transport Services in Vilnius
Awful customer service at the toilets in the basement of the train station. The old lady who was working there was actually shouting at people that could not pass through the gate to get an access to the toilet facilities. She was calling people "deaf and blind". I don't think this approach is acceptable in such a busy place.i was in Lithuania via transit and she actually was the only Lithuanian person I got a chance to talk to, and she set very negative attitude to the whole country!!!!
The airport staff should learn some manners! !!awfull awfull awfull.sour faces no hospitality skills pasport control is the worst I've experienced and I do travel a lot.
We really enjoyed our journey from Kaunas on the top deck of the train. Fares are really cheap by UK standards and you actually get a seat on the train! Vilnius station was in good order. Decent facilities and easy to connect up with local transport or walking routes to the city.
Really nice clean station with helpful staff jump a bus to old town in minutes. The best part is the station cafe surprisingly good food and efficient waitress .
As of 04 March 2013 3-4-hour train rides from Vilnius to Minsk depart at 0605, 1555, 1810, 2136, 2259. Certainly you should check with the ticketing office in Vilnius Train Station.
Vilnius Station is actually quite superb. It has real wheelchair support in all areas and the station is an extremely safe and clean environment. It really is a credit to the city now!
How do people generally get to the main station from Vilnius Airport? By bus? Hopefully I can check the line number and timetable first (but I cannot read the bus website...). Thank you very much!
Look into booking a train from Vilnius to Minsk. Air Baltic fly cheaply from the baltic states to Minsk, with a changeover in Riga. This website will help with buses http://www.ecolines.net. Use this site for booking a train http://trains.waytorussia.net/ Check this site for booking a plane http://www.airbaltic.com/public/index.html
Could you tell me the days and time the bus or train that goes from Vilnius to Minsk
Is there a bus from Vilnius to Vitebsk area? thank you
I found the service OK, but not as good as it could have been. Mind you, I have found similar in other countries. It seems the staff in these sorts of place change often, and they are not super-motivated. Maybe they need to be paid more? I don't know
It depends on people working there, but it could happen that the service is very rude and you do not feel welcome at all. Be careful with this place. Sometimes here it is clear why people do not want to come back to Lithuania.
A great airport, I was impressed.
Best if you go through an agency or just show up in person. If you want to try to find out in advance, go to the website and click on timetables. Cheers.
The car was clean and ready to go. Good service.
I need your help. I could not find in the internet the list of busses from Vilnius to Druskininkai and back. I am going to go from Riga to Druskininkai. Should I go from Riga to Vilnius and change the bus in Vilnius to Druskininkai? Or is there a possibility to go from Riga stright to Druskininkai via Vilnius?
Cheers guys. Due in March 27th... should be fun
Where can I find timetables for bus services Vilnius-Minsk? I would like to go on June 25 in the evening.
Having used Vilnius Airport for many years (my wife is Lithuanian)we have been watching he modernisation over the past months. The departure check-in and lounge are now complete and are very spacious, light and airy, such an improvement on the previous set-up. Although it seems far too big at the moment, I am sure traffic will increase as integration in to the EU continues. It is just a shame that the bar and duty free shopping area are on the ground floor and have no view because of a concrete structure, presumably part of security measures, obstructs what would be a lovely view of the airfield and aircraft manoevres.I look forward to when the present tiny and overcrowded arrivals area is improved. It is, sadly inevitable, though, that all these improvements will deprive the airport of its original charm. Flying in, or out afffords wonder4ful viws of the city, and, depending on swind direction and visibility,it is possible to enjoy the most fantastic view of the fairy-tale Trakai Castle.
unfortunatelly the bus station is dirty, and in evening full of "homo hopnicus". But, hovever it has meny buses to all major citites of Lietuva and abroad.
Hey Lifers, good news. The Vilnius Airport is opening their new terminal on October 1, 2007. With the new terminal, you'll no longer find yourself standing in queues that wrap into hallways and staircases. The new terminal will effectively double the potential passenger capacity of the airport, making room for up to 3 million passengers a year. It looks great and everything appears ready to be easily completed on time. However, if you are travelling through the airport before October 1, 2007, give yourself some extra time to navigate construction and it's necessary inconveniences...
