Le Siecle Francais is the largest collection of 18th century French art to ever be shown in Warsaw's National Museum, and the first of its kind in Poland. Showcasing such artists as Jean-Baptiste Greuze, Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Nicolas de Largillièrre, Hubert Robert, Claude-Joseph Vernet, and Antoine Watteau, the collection puts emphasis on those artists that were active in Poland. Ranging from late baroque through rococo to classicism and encompassing a variety of subjects, the collection aims to display the richness of French art of the era. The exhibition is comprised of 64 paintings and 94 drawings, water colours and pastels gathered from several collections throughout Poland, and will be on display through the end of April.
