One of the worlds most prestigious symphonic orchestras, the New York Philharmonic, will be stopping in Warsaw for two performances this month. The Philharmonic, which is currently on a tour of Europe, will perform in the National Philharmonic Hall in Warsaw on October 28 and 29.
Led by conductor Alan Gilbert, the orchestra will perform a program of Strauss Don Juan, Wagners Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde, as well as Brahms Symphony No. 4 on Thursday October 28th. On the 29th the orchestra will be joined by recent Chopin Piano Competition winner Yulianna Avdeeva to perform Chopins Piano Concerto No. 1 as well as works by Beethoven, Debussy, and Hindemith.
Yulianna Avdeeva will perform once again with the New York Philharmonic in January 2011, this time back in New York at the Avery Fisher Hall.
