Ok, seriously guys...this is so damn cool. This is amazing. There are HIPPOS! Hippopotami! Even saying their name is fun, so imagine watching them dance through the water!

This is the only aquarium in the whole world which is dedicated to the flora and fauna of only one continent....and could you pick a better continent to display? The diversity of Africa's wildlife is immense, to say the least, and their animals and plants are absolutely weird and wonderful. One hectare isn't much space compared to the size of Africa but compared to the size of a standard goldfish aquarium, We'd say that it's a pretty big place full of pretty cool things. Explore the five unique underwater environmental ecosystems of Africa through the 19 aquariums & swimming pools with a capacity of almost 15 million litres and with 7,000 animals representing over 200 species.

A winding path takes you on a leisurely walk... through almost a kilometre of sharks, rays, Nile hippos, small dikdik (hopefully not submerged - they are like antelope), crocodiles, naked mole rat (whaaat! ok, we're coming with you, gotta see this), dozens of fluttering birds and last but certainly not least, the magnificent manatees (sea sirens!). Plus SO much more.

If your wild instincts take over and your tummy starts to growl, no worries, just head over to the in-house bar-bistro with fresh food (vegetarian and gluten-free).

If you're getting depressed already, just thinking about leaving this incredible wonderland of animal adventure, you can get a little hippo to take home with you from souvenir shop or head over to the photographers for a more personalised memory. It might be harder to say goodbye to the Hippos than it would be to say goodbye to your own wife.
