Opera: Otello

Shakespeare's classic tale of racism, love, jealousy and betrayal was turned into one of the world's best loved operas by Giuseppe Verdi and first performed in the legendary Scala Theatre in Milan in 1887. 121 years later and you too can be moved by the tragic tale of 'the Moor of Venice'. Appropriately enough the premier of this 21st century production will be performed on Piasek Island on the Odra, which with its many bridges and canals has earned Wroclaw the title 'Venice of Poland'.
