Ballet: Esmeralda

The mesmerising heroine of the Hunchback of Notre Dame takes centre stage for this ballet in three acts, scored by Cesare Pugni. The performance is brought to Wroclaw by the Opera Company in Lviv, a city from where many Wroclawians can trace their ancestry. It was this from this city (formerly known as Lwow) that many Poles were uprooted after WWII and the two cities still share many cultural ties.
